New resources: Pravda & Izvestiia Digital Archives

Stockholm University Library has purchased the current and archival content of the Russian newspapers Izvestiia, dating from 1917, and Pravda, dating from 1912.

Stockholm University Library has purchased the Behavioral Science ebook collection from Springer with copyright years 2005-2011, containing more than 300 titles.

Driftavbrott söndagen den 18 september

Söndagen 18/9 mellan klockan 11-16 kommer det att vara störningar på bibliotekskatalogen Substansen, LIBRIS, tidskriftslistan och fulltextlänkningen till artiklar p.g.a. ombyggnad i Kungliga Bibliotekets datorhall. Tidpunkten är preliminär och kan komma att justeras något.

Under avbrottet är fulltextlänkningen till artiklar och e-böcker via bibliotekskatalogen Substansen, Libris, Google Scholar etc inte tillgänglig. Däremot fungerar databasernas egna fulltextlänkar.

Driftstopp Digitala Kartbiblioteket 17-18 september

JSTOR Service Alert, September 9-10

On Friday, September 9 and Saturday, September 10, JSTOR will be performing site maintenance that requires a "read-only" period for these two days. During this scheduled maintenance, users will be able to search, browse, and access and download PDF files for content in JSTOR. They will not be able to save citations, reset passwords, create or update MyJSTOR accounts, or purchase articles.

New resources: Aluka databases

Aluka is an online digital library of scholarly resources from and about Africa and a part of JSTOR. The Aluka website includes high-quality scholarly materials ranging from archival documents, periodicals, books, reports, manuscripts, reference works, maps, oral histories, plant specimens, photographs, slides, contextual materials such as excavation reports, manuscripts and maps.
Stockholm University Library has purchased the two collections Aluka - African Cultural Heritage and Aluka - Struggles for Freedom in Southern Africa.

RefWorks launches new interface

RefWorks, the web-based reference management tool, has released a new streamlined interface, RefWorks 2.0. When you login to your RefWorks account, you will see the “classic” interface and in the upper right corner a RefWorks 2.0 link will be visible. From 2.0, there is a link back to RefWorks Classic. Switching back and forth does not affect any data.

In addition to the improved 2.0 interface, you will find:

• a cleaner, more intuitive design
• tabbed functions
• improved menu navigation
• quick access toolbar

The new interface works fine with Write-N-Cite, RefShare, and RefGrab-It, though for now the look of these tools will remain the same.
Later this year RefWorks Classic will be replaced with RefWorks 2.0. RefWorks Classic will be available at least through the summer and probably through the rest of the year and for now you can continue to use it, or switch to the new interface.
