Driftavbrott söndagen den 18 september

Söndagen 18/9 mellan klockan 11-16 kommer det att vara störningar på bibliotekskatalogen Substansen, LIBRIS, tidskriftslistan och fulltextlänkningen till artiklar p.g.a. ombyggnad i Kungliga Bibliotekets datorhall. Tidpunkten är preliminär och kan komma att justeras något.

Under avbrottet är fulltextlänkningen till artiklar och e-böcker via bibliotekskatalogen Substansen, Libris, Google Scholar etc inte tillgänglig. Däremot fungerar databasernas egna fulltextlänkar.

JSTOR Service Alert, September 9-10

On Friday, September 9 and Saturday, September 10, JSTOR will be performing site maintenance that requires a "read-only" period for these two days. During this scheduled maintenance, users will be able to search, browse, and access and download PDF files for content in JSTOR. They will not be able to save citations, reset passwords, create or update MyJSTOR accounts, or purchase articles.

Aluka is an online digital library of scholarly resources from and about Africa and a part of JSTOR. The Aluka website includes high-quality scholarly materials ranging from archival documents, periodicals, books, reports, manuscripts, reference works, maps, oral histories, plant specimens, photographs, slides, contextual materials such as excavation reports, manuscripts and maps.

RefWorks launches new interface

RefWorks, the web-based reference management tool, has released a new streamlined interface, RefWorks 2.0. When you login to your RefWorks account, you will see the “classic” interface and in the upper right corner a RefWorks 2.0 link will be visible. From 2.0, there is a link back to RefWorks Classic. Switching back and forth does not affect any data.

In addition to the improved 2.0 interface, you will find:

• a cleaner, more intuitive design
• tabbed functions
• improved menu navigation
• quick access toolbar

The new interface works fine with Write-N-Cite, RefShare, and RefGrab-It, though for now the look of these tools will remain the same.
Later this year RefWorks Classic will be replaced with RefWorks 2.0. RefWorks Classic will be available at least through the summer and probably through the rest of the year and for now you can continue to use it, or switch to the new interface.

Cambridge Collections Online offers subject or theme based collections of content within a richly functional, fully cross-searchable online environment. Resources@Asia Portal: JapanKnowledge +N

The two databases Japan Knowledge and Nikkoku Online are since 1 April joined in one interface and can both be accessed under JapanKnowledge + N. Disturbances in the access to Japanese databases due to electricity shortage. Due to electricity saving in Japan following the earthquake, tsunami and nuclear powerstation crisis, there are limitations to the access of some Japanese e-resources. Driftstopp i DiVA 31 mars

Den 31:a mars kommer DiVA:s maskinpark att uppgraderas med två nya webbservrar. Detta arbete kommer tyvärr att leda till ett totalt driftstopp för samtliga delar av DiVA i ca. 4 timmar. Arbetet påbörjas kl 14.00 och beräknas vara klart till 18.00.

New ProQuest platform replaces CSA Illumina

The CSA Illumina site and the old ProQuest platform have now been combined into a new ProQuest platform which allows searching of any combination of CSA databases and ProQuest databases.

The individual databases can still be searched on the CSA Illumina platform. In a few weeks, however, access to the Illumina platform will cease.

The library has migrated nearly 20 online databases to the new ProQuest platform.

AAAS/Science – Now Beta Testing New Online Article Prototype

AAAS/Science is seeking direct input from its global online community to help rethink the format and functionality of Science’s online research articles.

AAAS/Science rolled out an initial prototype in the 28 January 2011 issue of Science which features a variety of new ideas for online article viewing, including:

Integrum Russian mass media databases

Integrum contains newspapers and magazines as "Izvestiia", "Kommersant`", "Moskovskii komsomolets", "Nezavisimaia gazeta», "Pravda", "Argumenty i fakty". Archives of many editions go back as far as the beginning of the 1990s and the most recent issues of many of newspapers and magazines are available at Integrum.

New trial: Women and Social Movements International, 1840 to Present

Women and Social Movements, International, 1840 to Present is the collaborative product of three years of work by hundreds of historians, librarians, and archivists. The first release of this digital archive in December 2010, includes about 25,000 pages of a collection that will eventually offer 150,000 pages of conference proceedings, reports of international women's organizations, publications and web pages of women's non-governmental organizations, and letters, diaries, and memoirs of women active internationally since the mid-nineteenth century.
